Our Services

Chapel of Rest

You may wish to spend some quiet time saying goodbye to your loved one. However this is not an easy decision and the funeral director may advise you if this is possible. What your loved one is to wear can be important and this will be discussed with you when making the funeral arrangements. Anyone wishing to visit the chapel of rest may do so Monday to Friday between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:30 pm, or on Saturday 9:00 am to 12:00 noon, however it is always best to make an appointment.

Visits to our chapel of rest at Collingham are strictly by appointment only.

Newspaper notices

It is not always possible to contact all relatives and friends with details of the funeral. We will be pleased to help compile death notices for insertion in local or national papers.

Floral tributes

It is usual for you to make your own arrangements for floral tributes with the florist of your choice and we ask that these are delivered to our office approximately two hours before the funeral. We can help with ordering floral tributes should you require us to.

Memorial donations

Donations for the family’s chosen charity may be sent to our office, preferably by cheque made payable to the charity. Please note you will not be advised of the names of donors until the list closes approximately four weeks after the funeral date. At that time the amount of donations received will be forwarded to the selected charity and you will be advised of the names of donors and the total amount received.

As part of our service, we can provide you with a Much Loved Online Tribute that displays funeral arrangement information and collects in-memory donations for your chosen charity. Your tribute can process donations and collect Gift Aid for any UK charity, or multiple charities if you wish, plus there are related options such as lighting virtual candles, sharing pictures and sending messages of condolence.

Orders of Service

If you would like we can arrange the design and printing of an Order of Service. This will guide the congregation through the funeral service and provide a lasting keepsake for those who attend.

Attendance at the funeral

If you wish to know the names of those attending the funeral, we can arrange for someone to take the names as people arrive and provide you with a typed list in booklet form. Additional copies can be made available on request.

Limousines

We have our own fleet of Mercedes Benz limousines. Please inform us as soon as possible of your requirements. Child car seats must be provided where applicable in order for us to comply with current legislation and our insurance.

Cremated remains

There are a variety of options available regarding what can happen to cremated remains and we will explain these when making the funeral arrangements to allow you to make your choice.

Funeral costs

A full scale of charges is provided, from the simplest to the most elaborate funeral. Because funeral arrangements are entirely a matter of personal need and preference, the only sure way of receiving specific information is by discussion with one of our funeral directors. Enquiries can be made entirely without obligation and in the strictest confidence.

We will make all payments to clergy, civil celebrant, cemetery or crematorium, doctors, newspapers and any other disbursements as required; these will then be itemised on our final account.

A deposit will be required before the funeral and this will be for the estimated amount of the disbursements and will be required to be paid 3 days prior to the funeral. The final invoice will be sent a few days after the funeral.

Payment can be made by cheque, cash, debit card, credit card or bank transfer.
